Exploring Edinburgh

At the beginning of the year me and my boyfriend got on the 4 hour train journey and off we went to Edinburgh. Edinburgh is on of my favourite cities I love the architecture, the hidden streets and even the cold, I’ve just fallen in love with this city. We stayed at the Apex Waterloo Place Hotel you can check it out here Here. The hotel was beautiful and located in the perfect place not too far from anything, we also got upgraded to  a bigger suite because it was my birthday.

So the first place we went was Edinburgh Castle (I advise to get there early or pre book tickets as the queue was big and took us half an hour to get tickets). Edinburgh Castle has some fantastic vies of the city perfect for those city pictures but also has some amazing history all in all it was fantastic fulled day.

If you’ve been to Edinburgh before you would of heard of the royal mile, its basically a long famous street that eventually leads up to the castle. Its full of tourist areas to get all that tartan (sadly i didn’t buy any tartan to say how much i love it), there’s a few whiskey tasting and finally its very picturesque.

The second day was my birthday, I turned 22 on the 4th January and we went to Edinburgh zoo. I didn’t take many pictures at the zoo i was living in the moment too much and forgot to take pictures, also how hilly is it? think i did a full on workout haha. In the evening we found this little french restaurant it was so cute and the food was to die for it was called Le Petit Paris check out the website here. Edinburgh has some amazing pubs that play live music especially on the Grassmarket, these are my favourite nights listening to live acoustic music and drinking wine.

One the final day we explored the city and went to the museum. we found the best view in Edinburgh honestly it was breathtaking that is where i fell in love with this amazing city, sat on top of that hill looking down at city going by and it was five minutes away from our hotel, I don’t know how we didn’t find it sooner.

How amazing is the architecture in Edinburgh, i totally understand why J.K.Rowling got her ideas from when creating Harry Potter and Hogwarts. Its honestly breathtaking just walking the streets of Edinburgh, finding those hidden streets.

Thank you for reading I hope you enjoyed reading and I hope this inspired you to visit my favourite city.

Love Lauren
